Delete Your Account & Data

This page explains how to permanently delete your LynxTrac account and the personal data associated with it. It applies to every LynxTrac account holder, including users who registered through the LynxTrac mobile app. Accounts are created and managed on the web, so the steps below cover deletion regardless of where you signed up.

How to request deletion

We process deletion requests by email so we can verify that the request comes from the account owner. To request deletion:

  • Send an email from the address associated with your LynxTrac account to [email protected] with the subject "Account Deletion Request".
  • Include your account username or registered email so we can confirm ownership.

Email a deletion request

To protect you against unauthorized deletion, we verify that each request comes from the registered account email before we process it. Requests sent from any other address may be declined or delayed while we confirm ownership.

What data is deleted

When we process a verified request, we permanently delete:

  • Personal information: email address, name (display name), and user ID.
  • Contact and profile details: phone, address, timezone, and preferences on the account.
  • Authentication credentials and security data: password, active sessions, refresh/API tokens, and two-factor authentication (2FA) secrets and recovery codes.
  • Mobile device identifiers: the push-notification token and device identifier registered by the mobile app.
  • App activity tied to your account: in-app notifications and message records, bookmarks, and saved searches.

What is retained, why, and for how long

A limited set of records is kept after deletion where the law requires it or where we need it to protect the service:

  • Billing and transaction records: retained to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, for up to 7 years (or as required by applicable law).
  • Security and audit logs: retained for fraud-prevention and security-integrity purposes, with personal identifiers removed or anonymized so the records can no longer be linked to you.
  • Residual copies in encrypted backups: purged on our normal backup rotation, within 30 days.

Organization owner accounts

If you are the sole owner of a LynxTrac organization or workspace, deleting your account also permanently deletes that organization and all data within it. If your organization has other members, only your individual account and personal data are removed.

Timeframe

We permanently delete your account and personal data within 30 days of verifying your request. We email you to confirm we received the request, and again once deletion is complete.
