LynxTrac vs Atera
Both platforms price per technician and publish their rates, which makes this one of the fairer comparisons in the RMM market. The real differences sit in what each seat includes and where each product invests.
The same pricing model, different bundles
Atera's bet is the unlimited-endpoint seat: one technician, any number of devices, with remote access brokered through bundled Splashtop and a full PSA wrapped around it. LynxTrac's bet is the complete-platform seat: a quota of endpoints per technician, but with a first-party remote desktop engine, session recording, log analytics, cloud governance, and an XDR suite inside the same price.
Neither bet is wrong. Which one is cheaper for you comes down to your technician-to-endpoint ratio, and which one is better comes down to whether you need a deep PSA or a deep platform. The table below keeps the two honest.
| LynxTrac | Atera | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing unit | Per technician, 100 endpoints included each (Team), metered overage after | Per technician, unlimited endpoints |
| Published list prices | Yes: $49 to $199/tech/mo annual | Yes: roughly $149 to $219/tech/mo annual (MSP plans) |
| Remote desktop | First-party engine in the browser (H.264 over WebRTC) plus a native client | Bundled Splashtop; 2 concurrent sessions on Pro, unlimited on Growth and up |
| Remote session recording | Server-side with playback: Team 7 days, Business 90 days | Not listed on their published plans |
| Cloud governance (AWS, Azure, GCP) | Inventory from Free; cost, compliance, and drift on Business and up | Not listed on their published plans |
| Endpoint XDR / SIEM | Wazuh-powered suite on Business and up | Security offered through third-party integrations |
| PSA (ticketing, billing, contracts) | Ticketing, tasks, invoicing; lighter than a full PSA | Full PSA built in, one of its core strengths |
| Free tier | Free forever for 2 servers | 30-day trial |

Where Atera is genuinely ahead
A comparison page that pretends the other product has no strengths is an ad. These are the areas where, in our own assessment, Atera currently wins.
PSA depth
Atera's ticketing, contracts, billing, and customer portal form a genuine PSA. LynxTrac's service-delivery layer covers tickets, tasks, SLAs, and invoicing, but if your MSP lives inside PSA workflows all day, Atera is the more complete tool there today.
Unlimited endpoints per technician
A one-technician shop managing 400 light-touch endpoints pays Atera one seat. On LynxTrac Team that fleet is one seat plus metered overage, which can come out higher. Run both numbers for your ratio before deciding.
Ecosystem and track record
Atera has years of market presence, a large app marketplace, and an AI assistant. We are younger and our integration list is shorter.
Picking between them
Choose Atera if your MSP runs on PSA workflows: contracts, billing rollups, a customer portal, and ticket-driven everything. It has years of refinement there that we won't pretend to match yet.
Choose LynxTrac if your day is mostly servers and the tools around them: you want the shell or the desktop one click from the alert, recordings of who did what, patching with rollback plans, and your AWS, Azure, or GCP estate visible in the same console instead of a separate product. Try it against your real fleet first; the free tier covers 2 servers with no card and no clock.
